Gentlemen’s Tonic
Ray Chan has 25 years of experience in competitive hair styling and creative techniques. Originally from Hong Kong, he trained at Le Salon Orient in Hong Kong, Vidal Sassoon Academy in London, and started his hairdressing career in Sydney, Australia. There, he founded his own salons and spent several years working at TVB Australia as a hairstyling consultant, designing hairstyles for TV programmes and events such as the Miss Sydney Chinese Pageant in 2000 and from 2010 to 2013.
In 2006, Chan was part of the backstage hairstyling team for the Gucci and Vivienne Westwood fashion show in Hong Kong. In 2018, Chan joined Kraemer Paris in China as a Director Stylist in Hangzhou and took part in several high-profile hairdressing shows such as the Grand Opening Show for Kraemer Paris, Hangzhou, Shiseido Beauty Innovator Award 2019 in Guangzhou and L'Oréal Professionnel Paris Le Hair Show 2021 in Shanghai.

1. How do you keep abreast of the latest hairstyles and hair trends?
Thanks to social media, we can keep track of the latest hairstyles, hair products and even tutorials around the world, everything from rising-star hairstylists to international salons and product houses. In the past, we attended live performances and demonstrations, and we are looking forward to doing more of that once international travel opens up again. In the meantime, we spend a lot of time watching tutorials on the latest styles, as well as developing our own creations and content.

2. Please tell us more about the Ladies' services in Macau.
Our salon offers a full, extensive chemical and colour menu – tints and foils, perms, straighteners and relaxers, Mycro Keratin Botox for hair, wedding and special occasion upstyles, creative cutting services, and luxurious styling that incorporates blow-wave, ironing, toning, and curling the hair. We also offer a range of vegan products and natural moisturising treatments for hair.
